How much for an 87GT?

It won't be cheaper, usually due to transport costs and the fact that you'll have to pay both taxes, but you can find some real gems in the US. Sometimes you'll get lucky and find a southern car that has already been brough to one of the north-east states which would make it easy for you to drive back.

1987 Mustang GT Tire Size
Hey Guys,
I recently bought my 87 GT and I was wondering about Tire Sizes. The car was lowered by the previous owner and it has a set of 15inch Centerlines on it. The rear wheels rub whenever I hit a bump. I want to put the original wheels back on and I just read that the stock 225/60/15's rub in the front when you turn the car all the way. Should I put 225/50/15's on it? How wide can I go on the stock rims?
Thanks Guys, Jonathan.

I've never had a lowered 87-90 GT rub with the stock tire size. If it rubs at full turn then your steering rack limiters have been removed. It's a fairly simple procedure, and I'm sure you can find step by step instructions online on how to install some. I would suggest running the stock size, and at most stepping down to a 225-55-15 but that's a very odd size to find. The 225-50 will be too short and look funny in my opinion.
Also, it must be either very low or the rear springs are cut/shocks are shot for it to rub out back. I've had everything from 285-30-18s with a 1" drop out back to 255-50-15s with a 2" drop in the rear with no rubbing issues. Check the suspension components as it should not rub, at least not without 4 heavy people in the car.

Hey Guys,
I'm here again with another question for you. I'm thinking about putting a set of 93 Cobra Replica wheels on my 87 GT. They are 17x8.5. Will they fit fine on the car or will they rub? I found them for sale at www.50resto.com I also plan on adding the 93 Cobra Kit and 93 Replica Cobra Intake. Thanks for all the help you guys have given me. Great bunch of guys on this site.
Jonathan.
