Blower all the way..With the money you save frome a blower you can buy heads cam and intake..And still have a car in the tens.

Why bother potentially wasting expensive parts when you can bolt on a $5,000 turbo kit (or $2,000 if you DIY) and make enough power to break the stock motor in half? :icon16:

I love a nice N/A motor setup. I'm a sucker for a well built long rod 302 that makes power up to 7500RPM, that would be one of a few N/A motors that I might take over a turbo setup.
To this day I still have a dream of building a near stock 302 with stock heads/intake/short block but fully balanced, 5 angle valve job, 1.6 roller rockers, zero gap pistons, coated pistons, shotpeened rods, polished and knife edged crank, custom grind "NHRA stock" cam, long tube headers, 2.5" exhaust etc..... I want to hit the 300hp flywheel mark with an almost stock 302.

That would be pretty kick ***.. there are some great benefits to N/A, ie: no belts, no hair dryers no depending on some local shop to try and build you a kit etc etc.
Blower or N/A unless i scored a nice deal on an HP turbo kit.... Blowers are just easy

You can find the odd Powerdyne 6lb kit on the Corral for $700-1000 USD sometimes, for a good complete kit. Factor in a fuel pump, injectors, adjustable regulator and a tune and you're golden. So for under $2k your car will have a reliable 300hp and be lots of fun to drive.
Personally, on an 86 GT there are a few other mods I would do before a blower. Most would suggest doing a Mass Air conversion, but with a tune the Speed Density system can work very well with a blower. I would definitely upgrade to the 87+ E7TE heads and intake, but if you're willing to spend a bit more you can always find good used Explorer GT40P heads and intake which flow substantially more than the stock 87 pieces. Upgraded exhaust should also be done, and if you're planning on a blower then 3.73 gears would probably be best.
