the early 93 Z-28s had an EXACT Chrysler Viper transmission. borg warner didnt make the F-body trans yet in 93 so GM bought a crapload from Chrysler then Borg Warner got there **** together and the BW is actually stronger and rated to more Ft lbs then the Viper trans. the 94 and later T-56 is supposedely good for 400 ft lbs. people are running them in low 11 second street cars with aftermarket clutches only. regardless DONT GO AUTO!haha, slushomatic/

well i noticed this other guy i rode with last week...he had a 96 ws6. he'd get on it then once he started to decelerate he took it out of gear and slowed down. ive noticed that when i decel i sometimes downshift to slow down or if i dont i press the clutch but still leave it in gear...is this bad?
i taught myself how to drive stick, so i dont know what not to do.

yeah thats why i do it. i love coming to a complete stock without using my brakes
but ive heard somewhere that its not good to let the gears and synchros and stuff decel...especially when breaking it loose...you dont brake, you clutch, cuz when you slow the trans with the brakes it can be bad.

if your driving in say 3rd gear and come to a stop sign, its fine to leave it in gear and not touch the clutch until about 10 mph then just clutch, 1st gear and go again. i do it all the time if i dont wanna hear my exhaust, and ive never heard a bad thing about it. doesnt seem like it would do anythign bad at all, cause theres not realy any loud on anything. right?lol
