umm, maybe ur a bit selfish making a statement like this. u shouldnt complain about anything when u have such high demands. sumtimes being realistci doesnt hurt.

I'll never replace my pistons and turbo with wiring and an electric motor.

This is getting rediculous... not only are we getting raped by insurance companies, we're getting raped (even harder) by the gas companies too. Is there anything anyone can do, or do we just have to bend over and take it up the ass?

You can always launch a "protest" and take the bus to work.

No one will care..i doubt anyone will notice either.

There's nothing we can do.

And im not even pissed off about the gas prices so much as i am at HOW rapidly they change and how violent the changes are..

It goes from like 77 to 86 in like a couple of hours..

Can someone please explain why the they pull that bullshit?

98z24 03-10-2005 08:54 PM

To desensitize you so you will stop caring.

...and it works...

Scarboroughdub 03-10-2005 11:14 PM

gas prices are all bullshit and the whole story of running out of oil is bullshit too like said they just put that story in the air to support higher gas prices.

and if oil were to run out im sure they would be able to make a synthetic or chemical substitute that would work just the same as oil or gasoline but there is too much money to be made right now on refining and transport and selling to start selling man made fuels. we can send a in dumbass to the moon im sure we can make fuels that will power internal combustion engines the same as fossil fuel.

politics are :supergay:

well i geuss were just gonna have to hop on a bike and ride like the wind in china... do you think we will need insurance for that as well?

dj_jake 03-11-2005 02:51 AM

listening to the 680 news buisness report a few weeks ago
exxon reported RECORD BREAKING profit margin for the 2004 year, as in, no proceeding time in history did they make more money...

rich get richer boys... and im sure this trend is similar through out the other major oil affiliates/producers
people are making a KILLING up top, and the wealth is concentrated up there...
and it doesnt matter if you take your buisness from the shell on one corner to the esso across from it, its more or less the same class of people becoming richer beyond their wildest dreams.
cant believe this is what the world is coming to

ricernoob 03-11-2005 10:22 AM

I got into street racing to stay away from drugs, crime, gangs. So I guess it's back to the drugs, crime and gangs for me. :thumbsup

The richest oil deposits are the tar sands all along the western north american mountain ranges. They have more oil in them than all the oil pumped out of the ground EVER.

Problem is - it costs about $4 a litre to process it into gasoline currently.

Some of the largest coal deposits in the world are in the north eastern portion of north america. You can make oil from coal using a relatively easy process.

Problem is - it costs about $6 a litre to make coal into gasoline.

Those giant mountains of used tires have millions of barrels of oil tied up in them. They are actually starting to recycle them into oil and steel, but the cost is still high.

We have tons of researve of oil. Its just that the easily reached and refined oil is getting harder to get.

When it gets economically feasible, they will start mining the tar sands, and the coal fields for fuel. Or we will be getting fuels with larger and larger percentages of ethanol which renewable, relatively cheap, and can be made here with no having to rely on outside help.

I ran about 50/50 gas/ethanol and it ran fine, it also reduced the emissions a lot.

lol.. and that little sticker they put on the pumps that they make 2% profit, we will actually learn they make a huge % profit.. like we did with insurance.

All in all, we have done well. It was 2 summers ago they were predicting gas to be over 80.. and now we are hitting those numbers now.. today i filled up the car at 85.5 at petro..... The most i have paid though was 103.6.

2% profit my ass.. they think we all drive big inefficient 60-70's 3 tonne cars that takes $10 of gas to warm up??

I think the pump station only makes 2% of it is more accurate..
