c5 vs. LS1 F-Body
This is a bit of a stupid question but is there a big price difference on performance parts between an ls1 c5 and a ls1 f-body? By parts i mean bolt-ons, superchargers, engine internals, etc. I now they are both the same engine but just wondering if the vette name makes a huge difference or not.

There's a lot of little differences. As for power the GM claims the 'Vette makes 45 more hp but that's been proven to be a joke. I mean mine put down 323rwhp and 334rwtq with just an intake and exhaust. There's no way those mods added 60hp.

Accessories on a C5 are bolted to the engine in different spots than on an LS1 F-Body, which is why it's a little tricky to make an LS1 out of a Vette fit the F-Car engine bay without moving ****.

The Vette is not the typical redneck drag car like the F-Body. The Vette was made to haul *** on a road course not the strip. Having all the torque in the world doesn't mean **** if you cannot control the car in a curve.

I'm working on the handling part though, I have my subframe connectors now and before to long I'd like to buy Strano sway bars.

I can vouch for the "having all the torque in the world doesn't mean **** if you cannot control the car in a curve" statement. I took my car to an auto-x recently, and even with the car lowered some, these 4.10 gears just put too much to the ground for a road course. I tried the whole course in 1st once, twice in 2nd, and once in 3rd and still had waaaay too much problem with the rear wanting to pass me.
