You can't just lower an F-Body and expect it to handle like it's on rails. And those gears are not ideal for AutoX. You need to upgrade your suspension as a whole. Sway bars, shocks and springs, Subframe connectors, STB, hell, even your tires are a factor. For gears, I find 3.42s to be the optimal gear if you intend on going to AutoX, but still want to kick some *** on the drag strip.

The IROC/Z28s have always had more performance oriented suspension than their V6 counterparts. You put your dad in a Z28 of the same year as yours, and he'll agree that it handles better.

Well if anything some parts for the c5 are more expensive than the f-body because they fetch a premium, it seems like aftermarket power adders cost alot more than f-body variants.the manufacturers of c5 specific parts jack up the price because they can, like blowers and turbo kits.when it comes to internals like cranks, rods, cams, etc. they are the same.if its a c5 with stock untouched ls1 heads and an f-body also with ls1 heads with an aftermarket cam the cars put out the basic same numbers with the same parts with an equal tune.the c5 might be a bit kwiker though because its lighter than an f-body

he's been in one. And he still says the 'ROC handled better. He feels that it was one of the best handling, if not the best, cars that he has ever had.
