Exacly, you get one of those cars, and you know whose going to care?

nobody,

Maybe you should think about a wagon? I'm being serious here.

All of those cars are horrible on insurance. Cavalier being the worst, Integra is like the 2nd worst. E.g. Costs more to insure my RS than it did my Mustang. No one can tell you what you want as a show/race project though.. you have to have an affinity to a certain type of vehicle. If you like Hondas, go ahead.. no matter what project you do it will be really expensive.

yeahh.... that is sooo unique....

and "show and race" don't mix. You want show: pick any car that hasn't been modifyed before (or least modifyed) such as wagons, minivans, GEO's, and so on, I am not joking, if done properly they WILL catch eyes, that's what a show cars must do.

If you want race: what kind a race? Choose a car according to the race type. Most type of races include cars that are RWD, some AWD (rallies).

Show/race car at 17? Hmm either McDonalds has raised their minimum wage to $20/h or your parents will be paying for all your expensies.

I doubt you'll be able to afford insurance for any of those cars, if you do have part time job, let alone mod them to something that someone else will actually give a second thought about.

Like it was said before, it's been done so many times that when I see one of those on the road I'm like "not another one"

I just don't think it's worth it, buy something thats reliable that will last you for the next few years untill you can afford to buy a half decent ride.

Everyone is gonna laugh again, but I've got a mint '84 rabbit with 2l 16v turbo. Cost including engine, about 15,000. NOT FOR SALE!!! fastest 1/4 is 12.36 sec. Do something different. There is a sweet 1976 Civic in the classifieds on this site. Check it out.
