I think it cost me about $700-800 Canadian. $300 of which was labour, I also got new rotors all the way around and ceramic pads all the way around.

I won't have any labor costs, so that's always a plus.

And you live in the States so shipping will probably be cheaper too.

I don't see why you would need a new master cyl- just hook the lines up on on the new rear-end..nothing to it, might need the different e-brake cables though- might take a little riggin there depending on how they are. I'm not sure if the 3rd gens are the same as 4th when it comes to that.

ebrake cables prob

def not a master cylinder.. unless for some reason it had to do with abs.. and i dont think it does at all..

for anyone out there doing something like this.. or just swappping rear ends out.. do check on yoru abs wether it is 3 channel or 4 channel in your stock and your replacement rear end.. some trouble i ran into after my swap.. and i still havent gotten it fixed..

Don't need a new master cylinder, only need calipers, backing plates, e-brake cables, rotors and pads.

because the rear brakes do very little stopping really, and the cost of production on drums is about a 3rd of discs (aka it would add about 8 grand to the base price of the car making every level go up at least that much more and selling even less then they already did)

It should be obvious that the fronts do more even if you don't know it- just look at the size difference of the calipers and rotors.

Also- its just another little small thing that the Z28's have over the base model cars- gives them another thing to say customers are getting in the upgraded package.
