Someone getting shot- more than likely not, unless it was a direct relative about to die in the hospital..but even then if they were that close you should have been there to begin with..

Wife having a baby- if the kid is half-way out and there is a big mess, but doubt it then because its actually more dangerous- should just pull over and pop the kid out the rest of the way..

You could play 'what-if's' all night, but the fact is most people think they can drive that fast and control the car, but realistically most people can't if something were to happen. Its dangerous, reckless, selfish, ignorant, well I could go on for a long time.

Generally if you are going to do better hope you get pulled over by a cool cop who won't take you right in. Another thing- don't try to BS a cop. There is nothing more obvious than a person trying to make up a story to justify their stupidy. Trust me when I tell you, honesty goes a lot farther than playing ignorant.

That's very true. My husband has gotten out of some very sticky situations by being his brutally honest self.

This run to 150+ was safely scouted I had a friend watch for vehicles and I knew the road very well. That is the fastest I have ever gone and proply won't ever go that fast again. Just had to try it.

I've governed my V6 out at 120 mph so I'd hope a LS1 could go more than 130.

I have heard all sorts of limits for top speed. I have heard 155mph 169mph and others. My cousin has a '01 T/A and his goes over 150mph. Someone on here has to know what I am talking about. All I can honestly say is that mine went past the 155 mark on the speedo.

yes. it should be able to pull past 150. my friends dads LS1 vette does abot 175 tops so basically same motor, slightly differnt car, makes sense to me. dont think about 6th tho.lol it sucks, but it sure is nice to do 90mph at 2200 rpm hehe

the factory speedo at any speed over 100 is almost a best guess (acurate within 5% or less) on any public road going that fast isn't possible due to road irregularities, the new vettes take almost 2 laps at a race track to get to that speed (like daytona) aerodynamics is your enemy not engine (the ls1 engine in a streamliner can push it over 300mph stock at bonneville) the fbodies in the 200mph club (there are not that many) are all purpose built and have a full belly pan

that is the only way to time them (and they aren't even that accurate, sanctioning bodies use sensors and computers)

when he gets the error he'll know (of course they'll be stopping you for the stolen car anyway)

Do you really think that if a cop was sitting on the side of a road behind some trees or something that he would even know what happened. Flying by at over 150 he would probly not even see you. He would hear you though.
