Disagree with some of your statements crazyae.

1. decent 1/4? How's 7.728 1/4 mile ? http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/timeslips.php

2. autocross champions are all awd...sure they lack in an extremely tight corner. Although I doubt this dude is going to start drifting in core area Toronto.

I'm not going to be some DSM **** here...but Civic is not in the same category as Talons/Eclipse.

I'd suggest test driving a subby/ DSM/ 4th Gen Lude.

well first of all i am assuming this is a street car with occasional weekend fun. I relayed some breif benefits about 3 vehicles i thought were good candidates. If he deciedes his goal to be the 1/4 mile then so be it let the 7.7 talon be his idiol. A daily driver talon can most definately do well in the 1/4s don;t get me wrong.
In terms of autocrossing there are many different platforms competeing as it takes tremedous skill and testing to know what works for that car. I beleive that is one sport where all platforms can shine.
