haha. hes gotta point matt. you did wreck your car by being a dumbass.
and yeah i did have a big air compressor and lifts at work, but i dont work there anymore.
anyway besides my laziness and my love for air tools, i was able to get out the breaker bar and get em off. it actually went smooth, broke em loose and then impacted em off. it took probably 40 minutes to get it completely ready to take off, which wasnt bad for being 10 inches off the ground.
the only problem was that god damn clutch fork. you have to pull the trans an inch away then when it wont go anymore you have to loosen the clutch fork bolt...which seems to take forever. then we had to wiggle the ****** out and the shifter kept bumping into the body. we decided we were at the wrong angle, twisted the trans 90* then ended up shoving upward and out. since i had one hand on the trans and another on a pry bar my hand got smashed. lol. got it out no problem then had to go to class.
so in all it took about 1.5 hours to get it out. not too bad IMO. now puttin it back in is gonna suck butt. i figure while im in here i'll do my clutch (which is gonna go very soon) and my rear main seal just cause.

oh and in case anyone forgets why im taking it out, its the weird grinding...that now i notice it also occurs when im rolling slowly, in gear with clutch disengauged and i rev...the grinding gets louder with RPM...
anyway i cracked the adapter plate off before i left and the synchros look in very good shape (although i dont know what a bad synchro looks like )
thinking about it, im puttin money on the countershaft bearing. when we were twisting the trans i heard clanking in the case
