how much have you invested?
i wanna c everyones mod list with the price of what everything costed.
my car ran me 1500 and heres my list of stuff i bought so far that i could think of. i left all of my sound systems out b/c the only thing i haven't sold is my amp wire kit lol. Suspension Panhard bar $100 Shocks $40 Tranny mount $20 Torque arm bushing $15 Engine/exhaust/drivetrain Spark plugs $16 Plug wires $30 Battery $25 Paint $10 Radiator hose + clamps $15 Thermostat $6 Gasket maker $3 Header gaskets $10 Header bolts $8 Y pipe $70 Magnaflow cat $60 Cutout $25 Antifreeze $20 Rear end $35 Driveshaft $20 Fan wire mod $10 Headers $15 Open element air cleaner $20 Paint Dark primer $45 Real primer $60 Thinners $20 Sand papers $30 Everything else Amp wires $25 Cigarette lighter $2 Reupholstering stuff $20 Hood latch installed and brakes same time $200 Trunk motor $80 Rear end fluid $10 Wheel locks $10 = $1075!!!! Uh oh |
I added it up once for my '94. Once I hit the $10,000.00 mark I stopped counting.
It'd be hard for me to add everything up for my current car since there's parts off my '94 in it. (Seats, headunit, Trans Am door panels, etc...) |
yeah i think over 1000 is a lot that i have put into my car... but some people spend more than that on rims alone. i was just suprised b/c most of my stuff was under 100 dollars.

oh damn! everyone think what they invested in their cars was worth it? i do...so far
|
Eh. If I could do it all at one time I could do it alot cheaper.
You should probally tack on another $1000 at least to that. I have rebuilt the motor twice now, and theres a ton of little things you replace when you do that. Not to mention that all this is labor free pricing. Because I installed it all myself. |
Yes it was worth it, until you start thinking of what you could have used the money for instead.
But if I didn't think it was worth it I wouldn't be doing it all over again with my LS1. |
yeah i wish i planned out my car better. the only thing that i payed labor for was when i had new brakes and hood latch put on for 200 right after i got my car. damn i wish i did it myself
|
Damn.. Ill have to get my list later on.. I know its close to 4k I think.

These threads are a love/hate type thread :)
I added mine up a while back and the money I have invested in aftermarket upgrades hit $15,000. I am not even going to attempt breaking it down mod by mod, but I will break it down by category: Performance $6,000 Suspension $2,200 Exterior App. $1,800 Engine Bay App. $1,500 2 sets of wheels $3,600 Total $:banghead: |
um.....if it was maintence it would be like 1500 but just mods like 500 i have made more money on mods than lost money

i know the malibu is so far:
Car: $2500 motor: $1500 and that's it the list to come though will suck |
hmmmm....ive bought a lot of parts and sold them off and made a considerable amount of money doing this so its hard to tell exactly how far i am behind, but i can just add up the parts i have on it or at least the groups.lol
clutch and tires= 1000 stereo= 1000 nitrous= 1000 full exhaust= 1000 paint, wheels and appearance= 500 misc crap that adds up= 500 im not doin too bad but i have mostly used parts and do almost all labor myself. also wheels and paint job where deal of a lifetime. hehe |
I don't wat to think about it and in a few weeks it will be even more money that I don't want to think about. Then there is the 396 build up I will be starting..... glad I'm sitting down.
