V6Cam, I had a 3.4 so I know what you're going through. People act like you drive a rusted out '86 Civic running on two cyclinders just because you don't have a V8. I always pissed me off which is why I will never act like that myself. A Camaro is a Camaro no matter what engine it has under the hood.

well that guy's defense was lame.

he says he cant afford a V8, so hes going to put money into his V6. i mentioned this before, if you didnt waste money on your V6 that money can go towards paying for a V8.


and although im not that cruel as those guys, when i see a V6 as ride of the month or show winner, i do think "but its slow, its not real muscle".

however i once had a show winning V6, so i can see it from both sides. sure its slow, but its very nice regardless of whats under the hood.

but not necessarily the insurance to cover one. It may take a long while to build up money for mods, but you can't take that long to pay your insurance or you wouldn't have it.

Yeah... Depending on where you get this v8 from. You cant always pay someone whos selling a used car in payments. Theres a little difference between hypothetically having 8000 up front, or having 6000 and paying 2000 in mods over a year or so.

I think you do Tom, but that's ok.....I mean, who wouldn't get upset to have people say things like that little punk did. And anyone who say's they can read crap like that and not so much as let it bother them, is a flat out liar.

I don't think it's so much whether you have a V6, a V8 or a V12,.......you simply don't like it when people try and knock you down for accomplishing something that they didn't. It's called jealousy, and for this guy to even bring up the fact your car is a V6, just shows how pathetic and immature he is.

I can't sit here and tell you to try and ignore guys like this, because it's just not something that's easy to do. Your just like all the rest of us who have feelings,.....so when I see you type: "who cares what other people think",.....I'm sure you already know the answer to that, don't you? (We ALL do) Thankfully we have a place like this to come and get stuff off our chest's, and to get support from our extended family, instead of going back and forth with someone who really doesn't give a rat's a$$ about who you are, or what you have.

Sorry bud, I'm really not trying to sound like a father who's giving advice to his son, but rather a friend who's here to support you when S#!T like this happens. Try and remember this....anyone who say's your car isn't worthy of winning an award, is clearly someone who's jealous because they didn't win. And, no matter what anybody else says about you OR your car,...it's nothing more than THEIR opinion. (You know what they say about opinions don't you?)

no i was talking about the guy that these people are trash talking.

this guy is talking about big plans for his car...well for me it was only $50 more a month in insurance, about the same more for gas. so thats $100 more for a V8.

im not going to discuss the initial cost because if you have a 97 V6 you sell it for 6000 and get a 94 Z for 6000.


you cant say thats not true because i am living proof. i had my V6 and was making 300 a week. i had money left over for mods, but instead i got a v8. i now make the same as i did when i had my v6, so you cant say its not possible.

its not, but im only making about 150 a week at max...till this summer then its about 350-400

just not for everyone, or in fact a lot of people. Until I got this raise, and the fact they we are moving to a cheaper place, I couldn't afford a V8. It's taken me 2 years to do the new stuff to my car, and I'm still paying it off and am absolutley broke in the process. Once I moved out, if I'd have had a V8, I'd have had to sell it and get some cheaper car cause I could not have afforded it at all.

i hate that mentality that a v6 camaro isnt a "camaro" the 3800II is a great engine in my opinion even if its not as powerful as an ls1 its a reliable engine with decent power and really good mpg, i am trying not to scrounge up to build my engine but its not as easy as it seems, stuff always comes up and messes up like months of saving so i do want my ls1 just for a fast project but to me the 3.8 or 3.4 are great engines
