My car was all stock when i got it but the screen was out? i was going to pop it out and i looked ahh someone beat me too it..

Why does it sound too risky?

Its not that hard at all actually-just take the MAF apart and cut the vanes out and smooth out what remains and put it back together.

Creative, a port and polish job on a MAF. I know mine has like half a screen left, the previous only descreened part of the MAF.
