Need Timing chain!

I've decided to buy a new timing set for my car but I can't seem to find a deal.I checked with autozone and they have 1 for under a hundred dollars but in order for me to use it i would have to buy 95 lt1 parts to make it work.So do anybody know where i could get a expensive timing set for a 94 lt1?One last question...... I dont have a engine hoist so how can i lift the engine?

Why in the world would you need to lift the engine for a timing set change?

Ok, word of advice to you guys. Don't even bother trying to get the parts thru autozone. I know the book says they fit but they won't. I ordered 4 sets trying to get the right one. The one the computer says is for a regular SBC. Then we went to the Cloyles book and tried- we ordered all 3 different ones it lists and not a single one has the center section for the opti drive.

Tony is right- just do it right, save the headache and get it from Summit or Jegs..

comp cams wants like 300 for one of theirs but u can get a lunati one for 180 i think. or gmpp is 250. oh and instead of lifting the engine, why not drop it? its not hard just jack up the car and undo the shock tower bolts and a few more and the whole engine cradle lowers, do a search on cz28.com for more info on that.

can you get a stock timing chain just to replace the factory one, from summit or jegs or you gotta get a whole new set?

i think its best to replace the set cause the sprockets and chain could be worn!

You are right, the pan does need to be loosened, but you can go it without pullin the motor mount bolts- I have done it just in case anyone here wants to argue.

And matt, you can get a chain, but like was said, if you are going thru the hassle anyway, why not just get the gears and do it all at once?
