New alignment machine
So my work just got a new alignment machine. Its Hunter's touchless version... I have to say, its freaking amazing.
I love pulling a car up, punching a few numbers in (make model year, few vin numbers) and it tells you how far out of alignment a car is. For those of you that dont know, 70% of the time spent on an alignment is setting it up.
Its so nice to have a car pull in and we can just check the alignment and tell them if its out or not. Not only that, the whole system is wireless except for the power cords, which dont get in your way.
First time ive ever used one, and I have to say, im impressed. Now, I just get to wait for things to start going wrong with it lol.

wow i'd like to learn more. we have the good old laser one with 4 sensors. if its simple like front toe only, from pull in to pull out, i can knock it out in 10 minutes. but like you seaid 70%...so that would mean it would only be 3 minutes...and still charge 59.95!!
im really interested on how it works. how does it know the position of the wheels? does the car sit on some kind of pad or does it scan the whole car with lasers and make a digital 3D image or something?

To be honest, im not 100% completely familiar with how it works. But you pull the car onto the rack until it tells you to stop, it has two big oval disc's for each wheel that send some kind of signal to them to measure it. Just google it and you should find all the details.
