KBB is useless, it tends to have prices off since it doesn't have a real condition, or region pricing (it's still better than NADA) I don't know many dealers who use the KBB when buying a car at auction

I know a lot of people that use KBB... Its mostly used for private party selling, not so much the dealers. I find it very accurate to a lot of prices people are asking, and its always good to check for reasons such as this entire thread. Maybe thats just around here, but I know its been used for years and is reliable.

yeah thats prettymuch what i mean. When I see a price for a car, I look it up on KBB and look at its value for what it should be worth approximately... Ive looked it up for cars that have sold and the price is almost always accurate. Its always somthing to use so you know you arent getting ******.

if you do that in cali you'll never end up buying one. cars are always a grand or so more than kbb out here. thats just how it is, so instead of ******** you pay it.

Just curious, but what does the region have to do with the inflation of car prices? Just because of a higher standard of living, or emissions, or what?

cost of living mostly. Just like a house in CA is much higher than one in AL, but teh pay tends to be higher also. They also figure in supply and demand in areas

I've checked the same car on KBB for different areas and it has come up with the regional increase.
