Problem w/ third gen...

Well i havnt been around here for a while on account of working on my car...... let me start here......
Well i was at the track last sunday made 8 passes (i ran a 6.8, spinning) and then my harmonic balancer bolt backed off, causing harmonic balancer to come off, keyway going into timing chain knocking it off, so today i get all my new parts in putting it back together with my dad..... i get it all back together.... crank it up, she starts right up... then it keeps wanting to die, and not idle... and if i start it to the with my foot on the floor it will rev up and all... but if i start it will a little gas it is hard to get it to rev or it will kill itslef..... so we take a look at a few plugs... the front to passenger side cylinders have the plugs like end bent down on the white part of the plug.... (you know like there is 0 gap :banghead: ) but it had no sign of any thing hitting them..... ...... so we check them all... put them all back in.... and fire it up.... runs but doesnt want to idle....so we re-check the plugs and there all fine nothing has hit them.... we decide to take the valve cover off and the far back passenger side push rod has a broken tip :banghead: ... having no pressure on the valve.... so we leave it at that for the night... i will take a pic here in a minute and post it..... but do u think that could be all my problem is... or do you think i bent any valves....

Could a push rod being broke make it run like that.....

By the way it is on my blue camaro.....

a bent push rod can make that happen you have 1 less cylinder, valve damage is possible but without a complete teardown it's hard to say pushrods aree cheap and easy

Donno how much you plan on spending, but if ur gettin OEM replacements you can get 16 for relatively cheap. Then ull have spares 4 a while too. Just something to think about.

oem will def not work... thanx for the thought though it makes sense.... i have double valve springs.... 2.02 valves... there is a lot of pressure on the rocker arm.... i am going to go to a speed shop today and see if they have one.... i talked to one of the local mechanics who drag races and he said that broke pushrod could def make it do that......i hope thats all it is.... thanx again for yaws help....
