Problems with painters

So the guys who were going to paint my Camaro.. are no longer going to. I dropped it off about two and a half months ago and they haven't started yet.. the main problem was that I could never go see the car. Tonite I pm'ed one of the guys about seeing it in a nice way although I'm sure he's tired of me asking (I haven't seen it in two months) and he said sure I could see it.. I could pick it up this weekend and find someone else to paint it. So I'm not sure wut to do now. $3,500 wasn't exactly a smoking deal but it was decent for a full repaint and fixing the damage. It is very hard to match the color on it since I don't have the code and it's not stock (was repainted before I bought it) so I still need to get the bumper and fender looking right and the rest of the paint could have used it for various scratches and chips. IDK wut to do now if I should repaint the whole car or not. Kinda sux that this happened but I'm glad that I will be able to see my car again too.

what was the proble with the first shop?? they just decided they weren't going to paint it??? so they wasted your time. and since time = money they wasted your money too. find a better shop, beacuse thats not very professional at all. a good painter will be able to find the paint code and match it, and paint your car and get it to you on time.

I have no idea what the paint code of the color is.. the Camaro was originally teal u can tell by the engine bay. It is pretty ghey that they are not painting it now cuz I really just wanted to see the car and they would never make the time for it. It is at one of the guy's parents houses. Idk if he was just in a bad mood tonite or wut cuz there wasn't really anything there for him to get upset about enough to not want to paint it any more. I'm just not sure where I can take it now to get a decent paint job done for a fairly cheap price. The original deal was for them to keep it all winter for me since I had no garage for it so I didn't have much of a problem at all with them not starting on it yet just that I wanted to see the car to put some conditioner on the leather and the weather stripping pretty much was it.. I told him I would like to sometime in the next month didn't demand it be some specific date and time or anything

Find some place else. 3500 is not a smoking deal by any means, for that price I could have my car repainated in pearl and have all dents and body lines fixed.

Question WHAT?

I know you said that there was something about your bumper and fender that needed fixed,.....but unless it was something MAJOR,.....$3500 seems a little on the high side. And honestly, I think you're better off not having anything done by these guys anyway,....I mean what this guy did to you just for asking to see YOUR CAR,.....is one of the most unprofessional things I've heard in a very long time.

I'm in the process of selling my 88 Fiero GT, so that I can get my Z28 painted,......the thing with mine though,....is that it needs a complete color change. With my car being White,.....and with me changing it to Black,....they will have to take my car APART.
I mean, pulling the fenders off,....pulling the doors off,....pulling the rear hatch off,....and basically stripping it down so that they can get in and around everything!

THIS,... is a $3500.00 paint job! If they are painting your car still intact, I can't see where they can justify charging you that much,....but then again, I don't know what all you need done, or what kind of paint you might be useing.

So if I'm way off here, try not to make it hurt too aweful much. Just Kidding ~ T.T.Y.L.

P.S. Like Mikerock said: Any good painter should be able to match your paint. If not,...you could always ask around until you find someone, then take one of your side pieces of the spoiler off, and take that in with you to have them match it up,......cause without having knowledge of the paint code, or some how finding out who painted it.....it's definitely going to be a matching game!

Yea I am better off getting it back. For $3,500 it was gonna be RM paint a very metallic color.. complete color change with doing black under the hood. I'm gonna do some stuff to it when I get it back here Then look for a different place to paint it..

sometimes it just seems impossible to find good painters. Hopefully the guy that is most likely doing mine this time won't be a problem... sad thing is, his last name is Gump. Luckily, his first name is not Forrest.
