Taillight killswitch (arch help)

I figure Arch will probally tell me the answer to this best, but im thinking of making a killswitch in that will turn off my rear brake lights. No im not planning on running from the cops anytime soon, i've just always wanted to do it lol. How hard would this be? I've of course put harnesses in them before... but I still dunno how it would work completely.

it's so simple it's scarey. Get a good heavy duty switch and a trailer wiring diagram (to tell you which wires to cut) and splice in all teh hookups are in teh trunk (I ran 8 gauge wire to the center console in my '84 cutlass, also did extra bright backup lights to another switch)

And thanks Arch. I'll look into that this coming week.

When all your lights are off, your brake lights still go off when you slow down...

Its like if your being chased and you want to make a sharp turn to get away (Phate), you normally have to brake to turn and stop in an abandoned warehouse (Phate). So, you see how you don't want your brake lights shining so you can get away from the cops at night time? (Phate)

One guy used a brake-light kill-switch to find hot girls in traffic, get in front of them, and hit his brakes. As a result, they rear end him, he acts very understanding and forgiving, and gets their information. A week later he calls them up, chats them up for a bit, asks them out on a date, and boom, he's got poonani.

Of course, it was also insurance fraud at the same time, and the poor **** went to jail for ten years or something like that. But it's a brilliant scheme.

It's too terribly bad it also borders on pathetic.

I'm just going to throw this out there- not meant as a slam to anyone or anything, but there could be quite a laundry list of possible charges should you ever decide to use it. With that being said, I would make every effort possible to make sure that your switch its obvious and is actually hard to find, even disguised as something else- you can always go with the plea that you didn't know they were out...

I hope that you wouldn't ever use it except as a joke on some back road to one of your buddies who doesn't know where they are-
