Best place for a cut out, rear passenger side behind the door just before the over the axle pipe. Put it on the horizontal. You will have the easiest time there. Buy an elec. opener and away you go. Should take you 1 1/2 hours. Also with it back there you will not have as much inside noise and vibration. Best of both worlds, not a cop magnet when closed, sounds like a nascar when open.

I love that idea. I will still remove the cat. I guess I will cut the flange off the Y-Pipe too? Monday I will see how much some cheap stright pipe will run me.

......

One thing I just thought of, would it be better to put the cutout in place of the cat? That way if I buy headers and a Y-Pipe I can just connect them and leave the rest of the pipe the stock size. Seems the local exhaust guy does not have a mandrel bender that can handle 3 inch pipe.

when i was taking the stock exhaust off it took me 2 days straight just to get the ypipe off...then getting the headers in
