Obsessive yes... I think washing your car two times a week and waxing it every month is obsessive, but I don't show my car, as long as it is relativly clean and goes fast its ok!

he makes a good point tho. a lot of imports are fast just cause they weigh so little and have maybe 300 horsepower with a turbo and they run mid 13's. If you can lighten up a hihg horsepower car with just small stupid things it can make a pretty big difference.

It is a good idea to lighten up the car- less weight is always a faster car.

imports are lighter because they're all rice and thats like one of the first mods. but hey if you have it to simply drag and not as a dd then i see your point.

lightening up the car is always a good idea, you pull the backseats, jack and spare tire, and perhaps a few other things, you've lost a nice amount of weight.

it all depends on what you want from the car, me personaly it's not worth the extra noise you'll get, that's why I have my cutlass in MI (if I ever get a new engine in it) it has a drivers seat, a passengers seat can be bolted in for street duty, no carpet, an aluminum dash, a custom steering column and no door panels, but it went (notice the past tense) pretty quick (never got a recorded time before eating a valve)

Thats cool! I bought it originally to use it as a DD/show car... then I started getting into dragging it... I had another car I was going to drag but this one just has so much potential, I couldnt pass it up!

The last show I took it to, people were open minded about it, I rolled in to the show with open headers and purging the hell out of it! When they saw the helmet, timeslips, and everything else they were a little hesitant but most people thought it was cool... So next year I may make it to a few shows and see how she does...
