My husband had V8 Trans Am and he never copped an attitude about a V6 car ever. He has respect for all cars. He may not like what people do to them, but he has respect for a nice car, regardless of engine size. Neither has my Dad who has owned multiple V8 cars(Camaro, Cuda, Trans Am to name a few). He was actually looking to buy the car that I currently own, for himself. To hate V6's just cause you have a V8 is a ridiculous attitude, especially when there are stock V6 cars that are faster than your V8.

Ok- I will side with Adam in that once you start modin your car for more performance it seems like it breaks more often. So I can see his reasoning for gettin rid of the T/A. But I enjoy my car quite a bit when it does run right, puts a grin on my face everytime I rip thru the gears.

But I also have a fairly reliable DD that I owe ZERO money on and owe ZERO money on my Z as well. So that leaves me more money to play with and leaves me the option that if the Camaro isn't cooperating I still have a mode of transportation.

Now, Caleb- I know where you are comin from, going from a V6 to V8, thinking what a waste it was to try and make the V6 fast when the V8 is so much faster to start with. But I will gladly shake a V6 owner's hand if he can keep up with something with only 2/3's the displacement, says something for being able to make power with small motors. You also stated that V6's are pathetically slow, but in comparison to what? A Z28? Well your Z28 would feel pathetically slow to me since I am used to driving around twice the horsepower your car makes.

I guess what I am saying in the end is that slow is only a comparison to something else. I'm not saying I am the top dog because my car makes the power it does because I know there are MANY cars out there that would leave me in the dust. I would just keep the V6 hater attitude on the DL, ESPECIALLY since it wasn't much more that a year ago that you were modifing your V6 to try and get some more power.

This all is no different than the import crowd saying 'Why would anyone want to make a big heavy car like that go fast?" Each person has their own taste an interest, and what they want to do. I admire just about anyone's desire to make something their own, I may not like their taste, but at least they are doin something to express themselves...

His car is breaking from what? It was nothing but a TA with some bolt ons, a torque conveter, and no big power adder. I fall to see how those kind of mods would hurt a TA.

Caleb, chill with the V6 hater stuff. Not everyone wants power or some cannot afford it so they go with a V6 to save money. If we follow your logic then the half ton truck shouldn't exist and every truck should be a one ton.

I drove a 3.4 V6 Camaro for a long time but I am by no means a hater. That's just not right, just because someone can't afford a V8 doesn't give us a right to be dicks to them. I never hated on you when you had your V6 for such a long time and I never liked it when people treated me lick crap when I had mine.

maybe i should have thought that statement through...i know there are some v6s that are faster than mine. even the slower ones, i still respect. they are great daily drivers and have a lot of real worth.

what im a hater of is a modded v6. and i know some v6s can be made fast, but at what cost? and they wont have that v8 growl. i love american v8s and would never go back to modding a v6.

i know mine isnt that fastest thing on the planet, i dont think im hot ****. but now im beginning to see less of a difference between modding a 6 cylinder camaro and modding a 4 cylinder honda...
