'01 Accord correct serpentine belt tension
Greetings,
I recently replaced both serpentine belts on my '01 accord 4-cyl. After installing the new ones, I am hearing a constant 'whining' noise. It's becomes more evident as RPMs increase. I suspect that I may have overtightened (or possibly undertightened) the belts. How do I detemine what the proper tension should be on these belts?
Any help is appreciated!

Based on all the 'great' replies and feedback I received, I was able to fix my problem.
Basically, the belts were too tight. I ended up taking a drive by the dealer yesterday evening and speaking with one of the service advisors. He explained to me that the belt should have approximtely 1/4 inch of play at the midpoint of it's longest section. In my case, the longest section of the main belt is between the alternator and crank pulleys.
So off I went and loosened the adjusting bolt on the alternator.
End result: no more whining.
Hope this will help someone else out.
