Buying a prepainted bumper on ebay vs. body shop?
I ripped a nice sized chunk in my front bumper last year driving on some frozen snow. I know for a fact that getting this part swaped with an aftermarket peice painted at a body shop will be around $1000 (I've already had it done before for an accident). So anyways I have an 05 Accord Coupe and just messing around I saw a body shop on ebay that sells painted OEM-matched front bumpers for around $300. I can damn near bet I can put this thing on myself with no problem (i researched, its 15 minutes tops). This company has good feedback,is there any reason i shouldnt save $700?

how much to ship it? If you are saving money I'd do the eBay. I have never had any problems with car parts from there. Just be sure the person selling has good feedback and make sure it is exactly what you need. Ask lots of questions. Also have you checked out any salvage yards?

the color will not quite match on the ebay bumper.the body shop will mix paint by what is stock called for then compare and adjust the color till it matches. all paint fades over time you just can't really tell till you put that fresh paint next to the old paint then it stands as 2 slightly different colors.

If they have a decent feedback rating and you fully understand their return policy, then I would totally do it. I am a big fan of ebay myself and I have bought many car parts there with no problems. Just make sure you can return it if it doesn't fit or doesn't match your car color.
