Opinions about a 2001 Honda Accord, 4 cylinders?
I'm thinking of buying a 2001 Honda Accord, with 4 cylinders that I test drove today. The test drive was great--the pick up, the handling, the sound of the engine, etc. The car has 83,000 miles on it. The only thing is that I looked at Consumer Reports and saw that the '01, 4 cylinder model got a "poor" rating for that year. That was the only bad mark. I'm going to have it checked out by a mechanic.
There was a little rust and corrosion (not much) on the engine.
Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge about this year of the honda accords? Thanks in advance for responding to my question.

What does Consumer Reports know? Anyway, I've never seen a "bad" Honda, especially if it was taken care of. Change the oil at least every 4,000 miles or 10,000 if you use synthetic. Flush the radiator every other year, get the transmission fluid changed every 60 to 70,000 mile if automatic. Drive it intelligently and it will last a long time. I have a friend who had over 160,000 mile on his. He then gave it to his daughter and she drove it another 45,000,
