Acura Engine Swap

Hey guys,

I currently have a 92 Acura Legend. I am looking for any shops in Toronto area that specialize in doing engine swaps for honda C engines (C32A and C35A). I know of the places that sell JDM C32A and C35A's but havent seen many experienced shops. The stock Legends come with 3.2L V6 and with minor works to the engine mounts it is possible to swap it for a 3.5L V6 from a 3.5RL. Also any shops with experience in the straightforward 3.2L JDM swap will work too. I appreciate any feedback.

I am sure with your straightforward jdm swap any mechanic can swap the engine over, however going to a 3.5rl i am not too sure about. Have you tried finding information online about the swap through other specific forums?

I am a member of Acura-Legend.com, and a number of experts in the US have done the transplant. Actually, one of the senior most members if offering to do it for US$2300 parts and labour included but its a 5 hour drive to Ohio. I wanted to look at the options here in Toronto first.

Would you be willing to tackle the swap yourself? This may save you tonnes of money and i am sure you can alot of support from your acura-legend website. You might want to call around some local shops in the gta and see if they have experience with the swap and also get pricing.

I just read your sig...do you also do porting and polishing? I might be adding a Type II intake manifold so I'll need it to be cleaned up a bit. Also my seond option is to just swap the heads to Type II so I will be looking to machine and port the heads as well.

I don't do port and polishing, you should find a reputable machine shop to do the work and flow bench it. Good machine shops charge a bit more, but worth it! Don't let someone do it without flow benching it AKA letting a back yard mechanic using a rotary tool get at your ports. Good luck
