lol i feel like such a tool for asking my initial Q after researching quite a bit . would my existing D15b bottom hold up to a D16y8 head with boost tho? its the mini me swap right? already finished the cars breathing(header,cat back,intake) so im def in the market for a head to tune with. just not in the budget for a full swap at the moment so this seems like the way to go. thnx for not flaming a newb bros

It can. Just make sure there's no compression loss.
Be a good idea to build the bottom end.
In case you wanna raise the boost

d15b's cant handle boost well dude.

My OLD motor was a d15b and it blew after seeing 15lbs..on mild modifications to internals. my new motor d15z6 out handles the d15b by alot man, it can take huge abuse, im boosting 17 lbs daily and it takes it like a champ each and every time

yea, go with the y8 head....i had a y7/y8 swap in my old civic and it worked mint....i beat on that thing daily, and she loved it
