without knowing the code helping you diagnose will be tough.

Does your speedo and Vehicle Speed Sensor work?
vtec needs a minimum speed to work and uses the VSS to determine if the speed is met so if you're speedo doesn't work or your getting a code 17 (VSS) that could be why.

Does your Enging Coolant Temperature sensor work?
vtec needs a minimum ECT to work and uses the ECT sensor to determine if the engine is warm enough to engage vtec. If you're getting a code 6 (ECT sensor) that could be why.

Did you solder/heat shrink ALL of your vtec wiring and ues the apropriate ecu pins for the Vtec Solenoid and Vtec Pressure Switch pins on the ecu?

If you're getting code 21 (vtec solenoid) test to see if you hear the solenoid click as you give it 12V, if not, replace the solenoid.

If you're getting a code 22 (vtec pressure switch) either check your wiring and re-do it or replace the pressure switch located in the vtec solenoid assembly.

If you're getting a code 23 (knock sensor) that could also cause vtec to not work. Make sure to be using the apropriate grade of gasoline required by the vtec engines and/or replace the knock sensor and/or check over knock sensor wiring.
