b20 turbo

b20 turbo

ok was wondering if this was a good idea
stock b20b bottem end with b16a head ( head mildly built)
with a t3 turbo kit how much hp could i get out of this i just want more tourque and my b16 isent working for me so takin a stock b20 block with a semi build b16 head with t3 turbo kit and other bolt ons would it work or would i have to build the bottem end only plan on runnin 7 psi ????

7psi is safe, but still u cant push her like ur on a race course,
just the odd once in a while go, obviously if u built the bottom end it would be able to handle alot more even pump out more hp on N/A, i dunno about u but id blow everythign on boost lol
but hey ive seen ppl run 14psi on a stock b18c1 and its still goin strong(2 yrs old)

psi has nothing to do with it as charge density and volume are different per turbo. 7 psi on a 14b or t25 is not the same as a gt3076R or s362. The issue with the b20s is sleeve thickness. Essentially the b20 is an overbored b18 so the sleevs are really what becomes a concern due to combustion pressures. By all means turbo the b20 and you can get some solid numbers but keep in mind your limitations that might yeild your reliability.

i have a b16 in my car now instead of buying the b20 block should i just go b16 turbo at like 6psi with a good tune still want it to be a daily driver wat turbo would work the best??

i think you will be more then happy with a stock b16 boosted. The b20 will allow for more torque then the b16.

if you got $$$ i say u do a b20 vtec with sleeve guard, a nice head gasket, pistons etc etc
if not, a boosted b16 is still tuff.
wut kinda shell u dropping it in?
