B20 Vtec No Spark!
Hey,...
I just finished B20 VTEC swap inside 2000 CIVIC SIR shell...
iam getting fuel into the CYLINDER but no SPARK coming out of SPARK PLUGS...
Specs..
Everything in the car is stock except the B20B block...
SIR 2000 SHELL
B16A2 HEAD, distributor
B20B BLOCK and B20B TIMING BELT
SIR PT2 stock ECU
I havent hooked up RADIATOR, POWER STEERING PUMP, ALTERNATOR BELT, A/C compressor. and my B16A2 block came with CRANK SENSOR, but the B20B
block dont have that sensor so I didnt plug that......
...so iam getting NO SPARK in the plugs, but ENGINE is CRANKING, Getting some fuel i could smell it when i take out the spark plugs from the head....
........help!.

doesn't the ECU need to see the crank sensor before it sends spark. you said it was a stock SIR which probably means it's OBD-2 and it's unmodified.
i'd convert to obd-1 and get an obd-1 ecu tuned for that application... or take the crank sensor from the b16 and put it on the b20. you'll have to change the oil pump to do it. you might as well do the b16 22t water pump and a GSR or type-r timing belt while you're at it. it'll give you better flow of the vital fluids at high RPMs. your smelling fuel now but you might be smelling disaster later.

So, If I get OBD1 chipped ECU, and a OBD2B to OBD1 conversion harness...will I get a spark?. People told me that I dont need to hook up the CRANK SENSOR...... ..so anyway IF I DO THE OBD1 ECU SWAP.I'll get spark....and then I'll put my B16A2 WATER PUMP AND GSR TIMING BELT...

no what i mean is
if you're gonna use the stock ECU (which isn't a great idea) you gotta hook up your crank sensor. to make it work you gotta use your b16a2 oil pump which holds the sensor and you gotta use the crank gear aswell.
if you don't wanna do this, you'll need to convert to odb-1 and tune an obd-1 ECU. if there was a crank sensor on the car the ecu came from you'll need to disable it in the ecu
to make sure the crank sensor is the culprit take the crank gear from the b16 and spin it or turn it against the sensor like it would on the engine while someone cranks it over. if you start getting any cylinders firing then you know it's your problem.

Also when I turn on the KEY to ON position I dont get any ENGINE CHECK light on, but when I swapped the regualr SOHC 2000 SI ecu, I get the engine light on back, but still no SPARK.... dont I suppose to get some spark even with the SOHC ecu even thou engine is DOHC.... I dont want to go BUY an new DOHC (GSR or SIR ) I cant get refund or replace the ECU back If ECU wasnt the problem...

Hey.. whats a TENSION WIRE? ..
Also.. MY check engine Light dont show up with my 2000 SIR ECU.. but when I plug in the 2000 SI ECU it comes on. When I turn the KEY to ON position I dont hear any MAIN RELAY CLICKS or FUEL PUMP buzz, and I tried with another working RELAY..and that dont click either.

AHHAHA...I fixed this problem....if anyone having the similar issue.
Check the FUSE UNDER THE HOOD......ECU OR MAIN RELAY FUSE.....
I fixed the problem, engine started running well. Then I rev it too high, and the Head bolts came loose, coolant started to pour out of the head. I took the motor out and replaced it with LS motor with B16 tranny .....Last summer
