Engine Temp Rises

as of today AND yesterday my car has been overheating for no reason. I am just city driving, not hammering on it and all of a sudden my car will start to heat up!!!! why is that? i cant figure it out!

thermostat stuck closed

cooling fan not comming on

going to canadian tire to buy thermostat ... NOW

how do u install a thermostat
where is it on the motor. ? d16z6

change your rad cap!

follow the top rad hose to the motor end then take off the piece that the hose is atach to 2 10mm bolts .

All of what these guys are saying is correct. Changing the thermostat is a simple task! I noticed you have a number of questions in the honda/acura section i highly recommend you buy a service manual as this will help you out tremendously. Also remeber you are going to loose alot of coolant when changing the thermostat so have a catch pan and new coolant to put it. Once everything is done and you are filling it up with coolant remeber to run until the rad fan kicks in twice with the rad cap off. If he rad fan does not kick then just wait until your car is at normal operating temperature. This will be bleeding all the air from your system.

f im' not mistaken the Thermostat is connected to the lower rad hose going to tthe back of the engine, it's ben years since i did it on my old EF, im gonna do mines this summer before it acts up.

ray_ si is correct, the lower rad hose connects to the back side of the engine where the thermostat is housed.
