Help Please
Alternator belt broke today on our 94 civic dx... any idea whats involved as far as puttin the new belt on.
How much has to be removed to put on the new alternator belt. Do i have to take the front wheel and and remove the inner fender to get at the other accessories off first...
Any help would be much apprieciated.

on a civic, if it has power steering and a/c you will need to first remove the p/s belt and then the a/c belt. Then you can loosen 12mm bolt on the top of the alternator bracket and you should be able to move the alternator closer to the engine to release the tension on the belt and then remove the belt.
I never jack the car up to change an alternator belt, hell you don't even need to jack the car up to change the whole alternator.
When putting the new belt on, use a pry bar to pry the alternator back (once you get the belt on) to tension the belt, you don't want the belt to be too tight and if its too loose it will squeal.
I'd say changing an alt belt is about 2 out of 10 on the difficulty scale.
