How long should I leave the negative battery cable disconected to reset the ecm

engine light.1996 honda accord

disconnect both terminals and touch them together for 10 seconds

Under the hood in the engine fuse box, you will see a black 7.5 amp fuse that will be labeled ecu backup, or memory etc. Simply take it out and put in back in.
