How much to replace a timing belt on a 2000 honda prelude dealer says 1100!!?

$1100 they better be throwing in a new cam and a set of hearers. I bought a new engine for my Mustang for $1200. I would say it's time to sell it.

ya, thats the price the dealership will charge you. you can go to a mechanic and get it done for about 600-900 but then again they don't have that "Honda certified" name. The reason for the high cost is because there is alot that needs to be done before you can actually get to the timing belt. You even have to pull out your front wheel to get you block off on engine mount, the job takes a few hours

I highly suggest you get more quotes.

They ARE a pain in the ***... But trust me its worse on some other cars.
