k20 is expensive..i'm doing one right now and a baic k20 swap will be like $7000-$8000 where as a basic H22 would be like $3000-$4000...if u have the $$$ do teh k20...if not do the H22

it really depends what car you drive..i fyou drive an ep3 then the k20A2 would be perfect. but yea if you boost go with the a3 since it's lower compression

the only good thing about k's are the 6spd and its response to bolt-ons. A few bolt-ons plus a dyno session with k-pro and you'll be running high 12s- low 13s. But your looking at 7,000$+.. now with that money you could do a boosted h22a.. or boost a stock B and yeild the same power.

IMO.. either way they are both good engines.. you just gotta make sure you are buying a good one. People don't buy type-s' and preludes to drive like grannies.

better...believe...

why dont you just put some of the money you would spend on a k20,k24,h22 and just build up a decent block head witha crazy turbo setup.... just a thought.....

I love my K20 though i must say...

word to my fellow EP3ers...

I say get an H22 Type S with a H2b tranny swap Would be kickass and would be cheaper than the K motor. Does anyone know exactly how much it would cost to swap a K20a(type R) into a 93' civic hb? I saw on hmotorsonline that the motor alone cost 5600US. And you would still need to buy wiring Harness , drive shafts , etc.

i have the k20a2 in my type s... i love it... amazing engine except for te fact i blew it... but either way i don't know what the h22 is like so my oinion is biased... the k20a2 does respond very well to mods though

personally you should make your own decision here. This thread could go on for days, but it all bears down to making that goal! All the rest is things you should consider to make that goal easier/faster/reliable.

That in mind personally i would do a h22 because you will see your dollars put more to use then the k20a2. The k20a2 is expensive to swap in and then considering turbo? well thats more dollars, but then again the motor has much more potential... if you think your gonna be a feen for more power later on!

h22 - reliable for goals in stock form, less expensive
k20a2 - reliable for goals in stock form and more, expensive.

thats about the simplest way i could put it.
good luck
