Need some help,Tuners, can i put vtech head on my 1.7L engine?

Want more horse power, have daily driver,want to do something with what i have without, gettin into lots of money. im sure i will have to bore the block, and want to install other bolt on horsepower, would it be less cost to do an engine swap? Have already done nice body style improvements...im all show and no go.......please help
