The past few days my moms car was making weird noises... engine smoking...?
The past few days my moms car was making weird noises and today when she came home, the engine was smoking out on through the left front wheel hub. It smells like burning plastic. We are going to bring it to a dealership but if we know what is wrong first it will make it easier (and cheaper) to fix.The Car is a 1998 Honda Accord, V6 Engine... synthetic oil, changed last month. Also, we have been keeping it well maintained (as in getting it serviced regularly)Found the Problem... when we last got the car serviced (less than a month ago) the transmission fluid was removed but probably not replaced. There is not a drop of transmission fluid...

You might have a very bad oil leak and its burning off the engine. It could be a blown head gasket, ir could be your alternator belt rubbing on the roof of the hood of your car. It could be alot of things. Does the burning smell like rubber? If so..it might be the belts rubbing or comming loose. If its a blown gasket..get rid of it unless you want to spend alot of money getting it fixed. You could use that money and get a new car. Once the engine starts going bad...the engine is shot unless you can keep up with it. Im an automotive mechanic...thats the only reason why I know all this. Good luck with your car
