I'm just worried about driving it in the winter with springs/shock. At least with some adjustable coilover, I can raise it up for the winter. So this means you would have to keep the car low all the time, meaning you would pay big bucks for coilovers and use them just like a shock/fixed spring combo(neuspeed, H&R or Eibach). By the way I'm originally from quebec (near ottawa) and we get a lot of snow over there, and I've gone through 2 winters with my car on race springs, now I live in barrie and we get a SHITLOAD of snow in winter, and I'm still on race springs and everything was fine last winter. Just make sure you have good winter tires and everything will be fine. Besides there isn't much snow in To during winter anyways. Edit when I say race springs I mean H&R race |
yeah thanks for the info. I think I'll go with a spring/shock combo now. Seems like coilovers are a problem for the winter. They're also out of my budget. It's not like I'm going to get full use of the coilovers since I'm not going to be a doing any auto cross or anything. I just want a drop so it look better.

Adjusable Coilovers

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however coilovers are mostly good for a track setup and aren't that usefull on the street, asides from being able to say "I have a 15 gazillion dollar suspension setup in my civic"...For people who want good driveablility and performance on the streets, a good shock spring combo can easily do the job at a much lesser price. Wait for a good deal on springs and you can either buy shocks on ebay or lightly used for the fraction of the price of coilovers.

I'll go with spring and shock combo... Just lowering spring is good enough but i suggest you should invest with a set of performance shock too. Save yourself some future installation fees if your oem shock goes(oem shock blow more quickly with lowering spring.)

I would definitely get full coil overs. I would suggest either PIC performance, Buddyclub, or Omni power. They are all very similar in design and ajdustability.

hey i have question too, im looking for a good smooth ride, i dont really care about performance, my civic has skunk2 full coilovers and my car is slammed and the ride is , any good company out there where i can have my car slammed and have a smooth ride. also to mention i have 16 inch rims with 205/40/16 tires i know that would make a diff but how much.

If you want real performance, go with coils. if you just want mild performance and drop, go with springs. Do it right the first time so you don't have to do it again.

i got skunk2 full suspension kit and i dont like them at all they ride like , then again my car is slammed to the ground so i dont know lol

Well I been doing some research and finally decided to get some H&R Sport with Tokico Illuminas. I'm getting them for a decent price around $500 for them. Just going to wait for them to come in and get them installed.
