Suspension setup for 92 Civic??

i've got a 92 Civic w/ H22A

i'm currently running a stock suspension, i've brought it to the track a few times
people keep telling me that when i launch my car looks like a RWD car because the rear end squats down so much at launch
i've been running Falken Azenis tires for the last 2 years and have only been able to hit a high 2.2 60ft
i just ordered a set of M&H street/strip tires.... look to be similar to an ET Street tire (hopefully)

my question is, how do i improve my suspension in order to get better 60ft times??

i keep tearing my bushings, so i'm throwing in some urethane ones, i'm going to get a traction bar fabricated.... i'd like to keep the ride height stock if at all possible
i'm still pretty new to drag racing, haven't had many track days so any advice would be appreciated

thanks!!!

^Says the driver of one of the worse cars ever made in the history of man-kind.

Edit: Just wanted to add that although I own the second worse car ever made (the Festiva) at least mine pulls 0.93g on the skidpad and runs low 13's.

Hey, I'm looking at setting up a track meet, so you can meet most of the people here who actually race, and we will be more than willing to help you out. A good start would be some adjustable shocks, and I like Neuspeed Sofsport springs. I'm pretty sure Neuspeed offers a package for any Honda, and those parts are likely available through some of our sponsors. Just give em a call. B6T is likely the best person to talk to, as he's running low 13's with a Festiva.

I'd put $100 on his car walking yours in a drag, autocross, or even gas mileage.

right now i'm looking at a set of coilovers w/ custom spring rates or possibly some drag springs.... maybe just interchanging them between race days

There's a thread in Special Events about it. Maybe if we get enough interest, we could make it a camping weekend, but we're a long way from there. I know I'd be up for that.
Swaping out suspension when you arrive, and leave the track is a pain in the ***, and really not doable. You're best bet is the Sofsports, and adjustables. The Sofsports only lower the car about 1/2", so you don't get hassled by our buddies. And the adjustables will allow the car to be comfortably driven, and then raced without having to worry about swapping them out. Really, you're going to have to compromise, and figure out what you really want. Do you want a track car, or a street car? There's the question that you really need to answer, before starting to buy suspension. See, my car has to be street driven, and track able. So, I compromise on my track setup. Such is life. I'm more a fan of autocross than drag, so my car is set up for street, and road racing.

you have a good point... it's just nice to have your cake and eat it too

i'm leaning towards coilovers.... i can only race my car for about 1 1/2 months this summer due to work, so what i'm thinking is just throwing on the coilovers and put up with the ride for that month and a half, then swap back in my stock suspension when i'm done

gimme the same amount of money it costs to put a "JDM" h22 in his car, and ill put that money towards mine and we'll see.

plus its jdm, there is nothing faster then jdm. maybe ill put a jdm cavalier engine in mine so i can say jdm. just saying jdm alone gives you 230whp. and jdm amber corner lights, oh man, off the charts.

Just ignore the slow Jbody driver. He's just bitter he drives a Cavalier. I'm going to move this thread to the appropriate section.
Anyway, that would be the way to go, if you're willing to put up with the ride. Just watch out for railroad crossings, and speed bumps. Come on down if you have the time, and we'll help you run nice and slow. LOL. J/K.

well, if u don't want so much squat in the *** end, u obviously need more stiffness, and if u don't want to spend to much, u could try to get two (for the rear) adjustable coil overs, adjust them to stock height and that will stiffen your rear up nicely, or get integra coil overs and that will be even stiffer (94-2001 teg)

now on to what stealth had to say

ok, do you even know what "JDM" means retard! ( without using google )

ya some guys take it to far, but all this guy said he had was a H22 from the "Japanese Domestic Market". oh and I would love to see the comparison if u took ur car with no drivetrain and his the same way, then both got 4Gs to put something together, (N/A) he would kick ur ***. so go back and cry in your shitty old jbody and shut ur f****** mouth. don't pick on people that didn't ask for it, ur not in the smack talking section. and like I said in another one of my posts. "grow up"!

This is not the smack talk section. STFU, unless it has to do with Honda suspension tuning. And that goes for everyone. This guy has a valid question, and that's what this section is for.
