Cool Swap Ideas for a 88-91 crx!!

Hey guys im lookin to get myself a 89-91 crx and i was wondering what is the best option for a swap. I was also wondering costs, shops to do the swap you know stuff like that. I dont make a load of money so the cheaper the better. Like motor and tranny wise i can spend a lil bit of cash. Just give me some tips and advise guys anything works. Lookin at spendin around 5g's on swap and labour

In general, people charge more or less around $500 to do a swap. That's around $4500 left for a swap. For that amount of change, I'd say go with a GSR or Type-R swap. Shop's like option and charger around $4-5k for gsr's and type r's but if you look around forums, you can get a GSR for $2700 (I know of one for sale right now) and a type r for roughly $3500-4000.

You could always build a frankenstein motor like a LS-Vtec (LS block with vtec head) or a B20-Vtec (crv/b20 block with vtec head) for around $4500 but you have to sit down and wonder if you are keeping oem stuff (like pistons/valves/cams etc) or upgrade and that will bring the cost up or down.

You know i was thinkin b20 Z turbo charged, i know its gonna cost me a pretty penny though. For the dispalacement alone it would be worth it personally but i am a noob at this whole thing. I would most likely be upgrading everything, i dont wanna go half *** you know what i mean.

if you don't get an Si you gonna have to change the wiring harness. on top of that you'll need mounts, linkage, axles and other misc. stuff. $5000 should get all that done no problem

the good thing about CRX's is that they are nice and light. Not much is needed to make them into rockets. I kind of like to be the devil's advocate and do things differently than the rest. I'd try and get something like an f22b or something in there and turbo it or build it NA.

Sorry to hear that man. B16 has got some power to start and you can install one for cheap 3gs. When you are craving for more power put a turbo on it and youwill be more than happy. Even easier buy another car with the engine and look that you want

i know the last couple of h22's ive seen have been for around a g a bit higher or lower in w/e case, but the labour and mounts and just the proper setup itself should all fit into your budget.
