tranny slipping

ok im not sure thats the problem

i have a 96 civic dx automatic... when ever im driving.. and slam the gas... when the rpms get real high i hear this squeaking noise outside...similar to the noise a bad belt makes... no matter how fast im going, as soon as i get into reving hard the noise just pops up until i let go of the gas pedal..

note.. it doesnt make the noise in neutral or in park... i tried reving the engine hard both in park and neutral to identify where the noise is coming from but it wont make the noise.. its been suggested that maybe its my tranny...

anyone have an opinion on what it could be?

Take it to a tranny shop. Mister Trans. would be a good one. It may just be a sensor that is screwing up, but it may cause bigger problems if you don't get it looked at soon.

All right check for vacuum leaks. A minor vacuum leaks would sound like what you are describing.
