is this a vtec
#5
my old d16z6 used to say vtec on the valve cover
the most common SOHC VTECs are
d16z6
d15b vtec
sohc zc vtec
d16y8
and a miriad of economy-minded d15 vtecs
A simple way of telling if an engine has vtec is to check for the vtec solenoid. This is a pic of one on a b-series vtec engines (circled in blue), on the d-series its usually on the other side of the distributor, the dizzy is in the middle of the valve cover on SOHC b/c thats where the camshaft is.
