1991 Honda Civic DX rear lights stay on?

The tail lights stay on with car engine off, lights off and key out of the ignition. It is draining the battery and I cannot figure out why they stay on. Please HELP !

You have a switch under your dash. Follow your brake peddle up and there is a switch that goes in and out. It is probably not working right. You can play with it and your lights should go off.

It's probably the switch. Crawl up under the dash and look for a wire running near the top of the brake pedal stalk. Look real close at it, many switches have an adjustment to control how far the pedal must move away from the switch before the plunger extends which turns on the Honda lights. It's possible the switch has shifted or it may be broken/cracked. If your car is still under warranty take it to the dealer and make them fix it, if not the switch shouldn't be too much at a local autoparts store. THey're pretty straight forward to install.. Good luck!!!
