90 civic si keeps stalling out will not stay running long?

had an 88 accord that was similar, shop kept trying different things, new transaxels, new etc... forgot what it was, but was pretty simple, try a general tuneup, after that, keep trying whatever a shop you trust says, cheaper that way then the other way around...
