I would like to add a film on the light. Does it go on the outside or inside?

Headlights and taillights, you would tint outside. It's a lot more difficult then this guy makes it seem, so there might be a lot of trial and error when you do it yourself.

Here are some tools you're going to need:

Glass cleaner: For cleaning and sometimes lubricating surfaces.

Paper towels: For wiping the surface clean.

Masking tape: For positioning decals in place for application.

Ruler or tape measure: For aligning or centering decals.

Razor blade: For trimming scrap, cutting seams or edges.

Squeegee: For applying decals and removing bubbles.
