Is this a good price for a Honda civic?
Its a 1998 or 1999 civic with 110,000 miles. It is the four door. It has aluminum wheels. Its not dented or beat up. Im not sure what kind of civic it is. Is $3000.00 a good price for it? Are 110,000 miles alot? How many miles does an civic usually last? Thanks.
It is an automatic.

If it is in good condition that's not a bad price. Not terribly great either. Honda's tend to have a great resale value so one of them with that many miles will go for a lot more than a similar domestic car would.
See if they have the maintenance records.

nah.. negotiate with the person to lower the price.. i'd say like $2000 or a bit over would be ok.. and for a little car ya 110,000 is getting up there but it isnt horrible yet it should still be working fine.. make sure you get someone to check it out for you first and test drive it.. or you could be buying a piece of and will have wasted money..

It's a good price, but you really need to think about it. Any old car, including Honda, with 110,000 will tend to burn oil. '98 and '99 Civics also had timing belts, which need to be replaced every 60,000 miles. If they're not replaced and they break, it's big money to repair the damage. Even the cost to replace a worn timing belt is expensive, $600 - $800. Kelly Blue Book shows a value of about $5,000 to $6,000, so there may very well be some issues with it mechanically. You need to ask the seller these questions, especially if the timing belt was ever replaced. You may decide that it may not be worth the $3,000. Usually any car with that many miles will cost you a lot more money to keep it running, I don't care what kind of car it is. Hondas are not perfect, unlike what some people's perception of Hondas are, nor are any other cars for that matter.

I use to work in service at a Honda dealer and wealways thought that was the best bodystyle of civic, just an all around tought car. We even say that at 110,000 miles you were just breaking the motor in in. I'd ask the current owner of the car is the timing belt/waterpump has been done/changed. Other than that, great car!
