smart to buy a 01 civic with 140000 miles?

Chances are those are highway miles. If all the fluids were kept up and all joints lubed, it should be ok. I have a 1994 Lumina with 204000 and a 2002 Saturn with 102000. If my GM owned cars can do it, your Honda should too. Just don't take it to any dragstrips.
