I really don't trust the Fram - even with Honda's stricter requirements.
The cardboard endcaps and cheezy bypass valve. I'd use a Champion Labs
filter before that. Champion Labs produce for different brands,
including Mobil 1, Champ, ACDelco (some but not all), Bosch, STP/Deutch,
and Tech2000 (Wal-Mart house brand).
I was able to get 4 of the 15400-PR3-014 (Toyo Roki) filters a couple
of years ago. I probably should have bought more, since the dealer
never had them after that one. Filtech is owned by Toyo Roki BTW.
And slightly off-topic, I just got a Subaru Impreza WRX, and the
it uses a tiny (and more expensive) Toyo Roki. Something about
the standard Subaru filter gets too close to the turbo.

Watch out for some of the rebranded filters like Bosch, STP, Wallyworld -
some of them have switched to off-shore junk fairly recently, see

Yep out-sourcing is the name of the game now, even to the extent of some
complete vehicles. There's so many mergers and spin-offs going on it's
hard to keep count but I read a while back that Mercedes-Benz has several
vehicles, including the G-wagen and 4wd E-class, assembled by Magna Steyr
in Austria as are some Euro Chrysler products like the PT Cruiser.
This is verging on a scandal in the auto industry: people think they're
buying "quality" for their >$50K and in fact it's just the same ol' stuff.
Time to put a stop to this nudge-nudge wink-wink stuff and for someone to
name names on this so that we at least have some idea of the value of what
we're buying. And yes, apparently our dear Honda has some sub-assemblies
which are less than pedigreed.... mention somewhere, not sure but maybe
Allpar, of some part of the 4WD trans of the MDX.

in Austria as are some Euro Chrysler products like the PT Cruiser.

For rotors check out http://www.importrp.com/ - they claim to ship to
Canada. I got their Brembo OE rotors for the rear of my '99 Integra (the
originals corroded badly) for ~$70. the pair including Fedex 3-day. These
are definitely genuine Brembo with branded packaging and stamped on the
rotor. I'm hoping they won't corrode as bad as the originals but they
can't be worse and no way I'd pay the ~$200. for the Acura parts.

Well, sure they do...but they use UPS for export shipments.
$85.33USD (shipping in)
Plus UPS brokerage charges of around $30CDN
About $155CDN, plus whatever taxes applicable, probably federal only (7%)
