I read the various posts and you received some great advice. I can only
add that the decision should be based on such factors as to whether you
like a car that has lots of power. If so--get the EX V6. If having lots of
power is not important, get the 4 cyld EX. It will use less gasoline and
cost less related to such things as insurance and purchase price. I love
my 4 cyld Accord EX but there are times that I would like the extra power
such as when I am on a freeway or interstate entrance ramp. I once got my
4 cyld. EX up to 130 miles per hour while on a road in the middle of the
desert. My radar detector forced me to back off the gas petal just in time
to avoid a ticket.

I have a '99 V6 (200 hp) and at times wish I had the extra 40 hp that the
new V6's contain. I get city/hwy mileage of ~27 mpg. When doing all hwy, I
am around 37 mpg. With that mileage and power, I'll take the V6 anyday.
Get the V6, especially if you like to drive "spirited" sometimes.

Re: 2004 Accord: EX or EX V6

Combination of 27 mpg and highway mileage of 37 mpg? You must have a
special blend of gasoline none of the rest of us can get. Those
figures seem way above what one could reasonably expect from the V6
(actually pretty high for highway mileage for the 4 cyl as well).

I believe Honda cites 33 as the highway mileage for the 03/04 V6 which
is an improvement over past engines.

Good advice, though I'd say I've never really felt the 4 cyl was
lacking except perhaps a dead stop acceleration which I don't find
makes any difference to me 99% of the time. What I'm really impressed
with is the acceleration from say 40 or 50 to pass someone on a two
lane road. It compares very well to what I get from my V6 Passat. If
you are going 60 or 70 and punch it, you get very substantial
acceleration. I don't find I need anything more than that.
